Security at Talksie

Talksie Inc.

Last updated: July 2026

Talksie connects businesses with vetted interpreters and translators for work that is often confidential by nature: legal proceedings, financial negotiations, research partnerships. Security is not a feature we added, it is a constraint we built under. This page describes how we protect your data and your money.

Payments: we never see your card

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Card numbers and bank details never touch Talksie's servers and are never stored by us. Client payments are held in escrow and released to the professional only after the job is complete, with every release verified against Stripe's own payment records before any funds move.

Infrastructure

Talksie runs on Google Cloud (Firebase). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by default. Application secrets and credentials are stored in Google Secret Manager, not in code. Database access is governed by security rules that have been audited against our full data model, covering who can read and write every collection on the platform.

Access controls

Verification of professionals is admin-only: no interpreter or translator can mark themselves verified, and profiles cannot alter their own trust status. Administrative functions require authenticated, authorized access on every request. Client and professional accounts are strictly separated by role.

Privacy by design

Interpreter and translator profiles are divided into public and private data. Last names, email addresses, phone numbers, and payment details are never visible to clients or to the public. Public marketplace pages show aggregate statistics only; full profiles require a signed-in account. Internal and account pages are excluded from search engine indexing.

Confidentiality

Every professional on Talksie is bound by confidentiality obligations covering all client information, documents, and communications, and professionals routinely sign client NDAs. Recording of interpretation sessions is prohibited without the written consent of all parties.

No AI training on your data

Talksie does not use client or professional data, messages, or project materials to train any AI or machine learning model, and our Terms prohibit users from doing so with data obtained through the platform.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Details are in our Privacy Policy, including rights under GDPR and CCPA.

Compliance roadmap

Talksie's practices are aligned with SOC 2 principles, and formal certification is planned alongside our enterprise offering.
