Hire translators and interpreters who know your industry
Talksie is a B2B marketplace where businesses find, message and book verified interpreters and translators by language, industry and location. Professionals set their own rates and keep 100%. Clients pay that rate plus a 20% platform fee. Talksie holds the payment, and after the job is marked delivered, the client has 48 hours to raise an issue before Talksie releases the funds. 168 verified professionals cover 33 languages across 45 countries, for legal, finance, technology and life sciences work. Talksie does not provide consumer, patient-care or court-appointed interpreting. Founded in New York in 2024 by Bea Buntic.
How it works
- Create a free account with your work email and search by language, industry and location.
- Message professionals directly to agree on dates, scope and rate.
- Pay the invoice through Talksie. Talksie holds the funds until the job is delivered and the 48-hour review period ends.
What it costs
A $100 an hour interpreter costs you $120 an hour. They keep the full $100.
FAQ
- Do I need a translator or an interpreter?
- Translators work with written documents. Interpreters work live, in person or on a call. Most people search for a translator either way, and that's fine: Talksie lists both, and you can message a professional to confirm what they offer.
- How much does it cost?
- Each professional sets their own rate. You pay that rate plus a 20% platform fee, shown before you pay. Searching and messaging are free.
- How are professionals verified?
- Talksie reviews every profile before clients can see it. Each professional holds a degree in translation or interpreting, an equivalent degree, or a professional certification.
- Can the interpreter join in person or on Zoom?
- Yes. Professionals offer in-person, Zoom, Teams or phone interpreting. Check their profile or ask when you message them.
- How does payment work?
- You pay an invoice through Talksie, and Stripe processes the payment. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach Talksie, and Stripe screens payments for fraud. Talksie holds the funds. When the professional marks the job delivered, you get an email. You then have 48 hours to raise an issue. If you don't, Talksie releases the funds to the professional.
